How Do You Know When You’re Done?
Much of the discussion about innovation is focused on generating new ideas. Less attention is paid to another agonizing, yet equally essential milestone: coming to a decision that we’re ‘done’. Ask anyone who’s taught a child how to ride a bike when they knew it was OK to let go of the backseat. The answer is as varied as the individual child, and the cues are different for the ‘teachers’ as well. There are, however a few essentials: a keen sense of self-awareness and a deep understanding of the child. And with each successful “launch”, powerful emotional bonds – and stories – are created.
